      GEOWAY ImageStation

GEOWAY ImageStation (Remote Sensing Image Processing Software) is a professional platform for integrated processing of remote sensing images. ImageStation contains a variety of professional modules for processing high resolution images, including block adjustment, orthorectification, auto-dodging, mosaic mapping, image fusion, and change detection. Each module adopts state-of-the-art technologies and algorithms.

        Large-scale production scheduling management

To resolve outstanding issues in image processing like storage efficiency, processing efficiency, and data security, the ImageStation network management module adopts a centralized management and distributed processing approach for massive spatial data. Oriented to tasks, ImageStation executes unified management of data, personnel, and operations. It greatly simplifies data management, improves production efficiency, and ensures data quality and safety.

Fast and high-precise image registration techniques

Based on the SIFT algorithm, Geoway ImageStation also integrates other image matching strategies for image registration. It is independent of image scale and data source, and supports image processing at different scales and from different sensors. Match accuracy can reach the sub-pixel level using evenly distributed registration points. Image registration in ImageStation is superior to other similar software, and provides stable technical support for image updating, image fusion, and change detection.

        Multi-source image geometric correction techniques

ImageStation provides orthorectification and polynomial correction for an array of aerial and satellite imagery formats.  It offers orthorectification capability for traditional and digital aerial imagery, as well as satellite imagery. It supports rigorous model correction for SPOT4 and SPOT 5, and rational function model correction for IKNOS, QuickBird, ALOS and IRSPS. It also supports user-defined sensor models.

One-stop mapping based on logic matching techniques

Logical map matching, based on image databases, provides a flexible selection function for matching lines and editing functions for matching strips. The mosaicing algorithm can effectively ensure geometric and color matching completed synchronously. The latest version supports automatic generation of connected edges; superior to PCI in terms of automatic mosaicing, it improves operational efficiency accordingly.

Automatic image dodging and burning (brightness balance) techniques

ImageStation provides batch and automatic dodging operations for aerial and satellite images. It supports both template-based automatic dodging and local dodging. ImageStation achieves a uniform color effect in multiple image processing by providing techniques for dodging effect correction based on image sampling. Color and brightness difference are effectively eliminated within a single image or between multiple images, which ensures consistency of illumination and brightness. Intelligent processing algorithms, such as the mask-based dodging algorithm and automatic water-body exclude algorithm, are applied to facilitate fast dodging processing.

        Image change detection techniques

Powered by image change detection for multi-source spatial vector data and imagery data, ImageStation integrates the latest change detection and vector spatial analysis techniques. By implementing comprehensive change detection workflows for multi-source data, ImageStation could be applied in a variety of applications, such as land, forestry, and other resource-based dynamic monitoring and updating situations.

Change detection techniques for multi-source spatial vector, video and other data, integrate the latest image change detection and vector spatial analysis techniques for a variety of applications, such as land, forestry and other resource-based dynamic monitoring and spatial data updating combining different data sources. It includes a complete change detection business process.

ImageStation includes two functional modules: the network operation and management module and specialized processing module. Supported by the database, the network operation and management module realizes unified management for programs, personnel, scheduling and accuracy. The specialized processing module offers multiple imagery processing functions as configurable plug-ins.

Geoway ImageStation provides leading orthorectification techniques for aerial and satellite imagery. For satellite images, multiple sensors are supported, including SPOT4, IKONOS, QuickBird and user-defined sensor models. For aerial images, fast data processing is achieved based on cooperation between the management and processing sides with the support of the task database, which makes it suitable for processing massive aerial images.  The ground control point data can be retrieved from filed survey, DRG, DLG or DOM data.

        Block adjustment

Based on RFM model, block adjustment function of Geoway ImageStation supports various stereo pairs from high resolution satellite sensors, and multi-scene combined adjustment. Fewer control points can achieve high accuracy of the model.

For satellite images, ImageStation provides mosaic function for images from the same orbit to generate super-scene images, reducing the number of required control points. Conversion from metadata to RFC file for SPOT data is also provided in ImageStation to facilitate SPOT data processing.

In ImageStation, high-precision control point prediction can start from the first control point, without manual positioning of three control points it can predict. The  manual collection workload for corresponding points is reduced by adopting multi-point auto-matching algorithm. Various views of the relationship are automatically created between multiple images, the image and control points, or the image and DEM, which allows users to check positional relationships, as well as data organization.

For mass spatial data, ImageStation provides automatic batch correction and automatic DEM mosaicing, which greatly improves the working performance.

        Intelligent image dodging and burning

Intelligent image dodging and burning can be applied to a variety of data sources, such as color aerial images, grey aerial images and diverse satellite images. Dodging and burning for bulk images is based on a unified template. ImageStation can handle not only color differences between multiple images, but also solves color difference existing in single images resulting from shooting conditions and central projection.

With the image dodging and burning template, ImageStation can perform brightness balancing in at the overall or local extent, as well as execute batch operations. Multiple dodging and burning scenarios are anticipated, such as whole-scene, partition-scene and MASK, to eliminate issues like brightness and color difference.

ImageStation can exclude water body areas automatically by using pattern recognition algorithms. The pixels values within a water body do not participate in overall image dodging and burning, which greatly improves the quality of dodging and burning for the images containing large water body areas.

        Image mosaic

ImageStation adopts one-stop mapping based on logic matching techniques, without generating intermediate data. Automatic selection of matching lines addresses the time issue; image mosaicing for massive data is a time-consuming manual process.  Now, with a high-precision matching algorithm, ImageStation can obtain matching lines automatically and generates a matching accuracy report accordingly.  Users just need to edit only large error matching points, which is extremely effective in large data processing projects.

Image fusionMore and more satellites provide panchromatic and multispectral images; image fusion is required to obtain high spatial resolution and high spectral resolution data from them. ImageStation provides various image fusion algorithms, including a color-based algorithm, mathematical calculation, image transformation, wavelet fusion, mathematical product fusion, PCA fusion and HIS fusion, to account for different data source characteristics,

ImageStation offers batch fusion capability to save labor time and enhance productivity, solving the time-cost problem when processing massive image data sets
